How we broadcast

Pump Radio is owned and operated by PacketPipe Ltd (Company No. 12105604), which holds an Ofcom Local Digital Sound Programme licence for small-scale DAB digital radio. We are legally responsible to Ofcom for everything that goes to air, and our output is recorded and retained in line with Ofcom requirements.

Music is broadcast under the collective licences that cover UK radio — so songwriters, performers and labels are remunerated through the recognised royalty societies — or with permission granted directly by the artist or rights holder.

Every recording we broadcast goes through a governance process before it's approved for air. We assess its provenance — where it came from and who supplied it — and record the basis on which we believe it can be broadcast. Our music comes from legitimate sources: commercial retailers, professional DJ pools, record labels, distributors, and artists and their representatives.

Recordings without identifiable provenance don't get approved, and we will not knowingly broadcast music that appears to have been unlawfully obtained or distributed. Presenters agree to these rules, in writing, before their first show.

Approved tracks are entered in our Music Register — an auditable record of each recording's source, supplier, approval and broadcast history that we retain for a minimum of seven years.

Pump Radio exists to discover and promote exceptional electronic music — from established names to emerging artists, independent labels, producers and remixers. After every show, presenters submit a full playlist, and those playlists drive our royalty reporting — airplay on Pump Radio means the artists, songwriters and labels behind the music are paid and credited.

We welcome submissions from artists, labels and their representatives. Sending us a track is straightforward: include the artist, title, version or remix, label and where it came from, and we'll take it through our review process. Editorial decisions always remain ours — a submission or commercial relationship never guarantees airplay — but every credible submission gets a fair listen.

Modern music rights are complex, and we know questions can occasionally arise about a recording's provenance, ownership or licensing. If you're a rights holder or authorised representative with a concern about something we've broadcast, contact us and we will investigate promptly and fairly — that can include suspending further broadcasts while we look into it, correcting our records, or permanently withdrawing a recording.

We maintain accurate broadcast records, we don't amend them except to correct factual errors, and we cooperate fully with legitimate rights holders throughout any review.
